Job Description
Technical Program Manager leading complex technology programs for Pearson. Driving cross-functional delivery, budgets, risks, and strategic alignment.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage multiple technical programs and projects simultaneously
- Develop project plans covering scope, schedule, resources, risks, and milestones
- Collaborate with engineering, product management, and cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliverables
- Identify and mitigate risks, resolve issues, and ensure successful outcomes
- Communicate project status, progress, and challenges to stakeholders and senior management
- Facilitate team collaboration and communication
- Drive continuous improvement in project management processes and methodologies
- Align project goals with business objectives and strategic priorities
- Manage project budgets, track expenses, and use resources cost-effectively
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams
- Foster cross-team collaboration and knowledge sharing
- Address dependencies and improve project efficiency through open communication
- Manage vendors as necessary to align contributions with project goals and timelines
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager or in a similar role in a technology-driven environment
- Strong technical background with hands-on experience in software development, systems engineering, or related fields
- Proven record of delivering complex projects on time and within budget
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, including Agile, Scrum, and Kanban
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Experience with cloud technologies, software development lifecycle (SDLC), and DevOps practices is a plus
- PMP, PgMP, or other relevant certifications are a plus
