Job Description
Sales Engineer promoting Pandrol rail infrastructure products across the USA. Supporting customer development, technical evaluations, quotations, CRM opportunities, and pre- and post-sales support.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with and support the Pandrol Americas’ sales team to maximize sales of the Track Mounted Equipment product line
- Present and promote Pandrol products and services with a technical and engineering bias
- Promote Pandrol’s expertise, development, design, and quality commitment
- Establish customer relationships and provide high-standard service
- Grow and retain existing accounts by presenting new solutions and services
- Support technical assessment and documentation of customer requirements
- Evaluate product compatibility against customer requirements
- Compile quotation proposals for approval and administration
- Work with technical staff and internal colleagues to meet customer needs
- Represent products and the business at exhibitions in the USA and Canada
- Provide technical support before and after product sales
- Conduct contract and order reviews according to company procedures
- Administer opportunities in the CRM system and keep leads updated with probability, value, and forecast conversion date
- Follow opportunities through closure and maximize conversion rates
- Handle objections and work toward positive conclusions
- Arrange and participate in internal and external client debriefs
- Support larger quotation applications through the SCAA process
- Support annual and biannual sales budget setting using market intelligence from customer contacts
- Conduct conference calls across global time zones, including Europe and New Zealand, with occasional weekday evening commitments
Requirements:
- Technical experience within the rail industry
- Railway signaling and/or track experience advantageous
- Educated to degree level in Engineering, preferably mechanical or civil engineering, or equivalent qualification from a recognized professional body
- Ability to represent and present Pandrol (Vortok) products to existing and prospective customers
- Ability to explain technical product features and sell the value proposition
- Fluent English speaker
- Mechanical aptitude for demonstrating products in a railway track environment
- Ability to establish, build, and maintain customer relationships
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to chair meetings and interpret, create, and present technical and commercial documents
- Ability to read, interpret, and analyze engineering documentation, including drawings, models, standards, and procurement specifications
- Ability to build positive working relationships with stakeholders
- Competency in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
- Full driver’s license
- Knowledge of manufacturing environments involving fabricated, cast, and composite parts desirable
