Job Description
Senior Content Rigger rigging game assets and building animation pipeline tools for Sledgehammer Games, a Call of Duty developer. Remote in Canada or hybrid from its Toronto studio.
Responsibilities:
- Rig and skin complex character, vehicle, weapon, and prop assets
- Build tooling to support the animation team and animation pipeline
- Improve runtime quality of hair, dynamics, and physics on skinned assets using in-game tools
- Oversee external rigging developers and provide feedback and documentation
- Coordinate with production on timelines and manage feedback to maintain a high-quality bar
- Improve and design pipelines and workflows
- Build tools and processes that facilitate content authoring with emphasis on user experience, quality, and efficiency
- Set up, research, debug, and optimize dynamics and in-game physics
- Support cloth and hair simulation in Maya or the game engine
Requirements:
- Degree or Certificate in Computer Science, Graphic Art or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in the games industry
- 5+ years of experience in console game development
- Experience developing pipelines and workflows
- Solid knowledge of Maya
- Knowledge of at least one major commercial game engine, such as Unreal or Unity
- Experience working with external developers
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a small, dynamic team
- Computer programming/scripting experience, such as C++, Python, or PyQt (bonus)
- Experience working on a first-person shooter (bonus)
- Experience shipping a highly competitive multiplayer game (bonus)
- Existing work authorization in Canada is required
