Job Description

Senior Hardware Product Manager owning Samsara’s connected-operations telematics hardware roadmap. Driving customer-facing strategy, launches, revenue growth, and lifecycle management for IoT gateways and sensors.

Responsibilities:

  • Own and execute the multi-year Telematics hardware platform roadmap from concept through end-of-life
  • Interface directly with operational executives at customers and prospects
  • Join Sales on strategic opportunities, host executive briefings and field visits, and ensure customer success with hardware
  • Own revenue growth, attach rates, cost and margin targets, and business cases for new product introductions
  • Align Sales, Marketing/GTM, Finance, Operations, and Engineering around the hardware strategy
  • Drive field validation, sales readiness, and product launch activities
  • Partner with Applications Product Management teams to optimize cloud and edge-device solutions
  • Use customer, market, and fleet data to prioritize, establish the roadmap, and define platform strategy
  • Mentor early-career product managers
  • Champion and embed Samsara’s cultural principles

Requirements:

  • 7+ years in product management, with significant experience in enterprise-grade, cloud-connected hardware products
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a similar technical field
  • History of launching commercially successful enterprise IT and/or IoT hardware products
  • Experience managing commercial product lines at scale, including $100M+ company or product-line revenue
  • Excellent business acumen for balancing features, cost, development risk, and performance
  • Ability to align Sales, Marketing/GTM, Finance, Operations, and Engineering behind a product roadmap
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort presenting to customers, partners, and internal audiences at all levels
  • Curiosity and bias toward action, using field inspection, interviews, research, and data analytics for customer insights
  • Knowledge of CAN bus, OBD-II/J1939, telematics, sensors, wireless, and edge AI
  • Familiarity with contract manufacturing, FCC/PTCRB/carrier regulatory certification, and global supply chain operations
  • MBA is a plus
  • Ability to secure and maintain the legal right to work at Samsara and in the specified work location
