Job Description
Medicaid proposal writer developing compliant RFP responses for CVS Health’s Aetna health plans. Researching content, collaborating with SMEs, and supporting business growth.
Responsibilities:
- Write assignments of varying length and detail supporting strategic, functional, and operational proposal topics
- Collaborate with Capture and Proposal Managers, Proposal Directors, and Subject Matter Experts to prepare final proposal responses
- Analyze proposal sections and content to identify connections, ensure alignment, and support a cohesive narrative
- Interview subject matter experts to collect information for compliant responses, update resumes, write past performances, and develop proposal responses
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research and analyze data for client-solution content
- Collaborate with Graphic Designers on proposal graphics and visual storytelling
- Participate in proposal meetings, color team reviews, and status meetings throughout the proposal process
- Develop compliant and compelling proposal responses aligned with internal quality standards and bid guidance
- Develop creative strategies articulating customer needs and win themes
- Maintain expert understanding of Aetna Medicaid products and services
- Support the Medicaid Content Library content management lifecycle
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to drive innovation and creativity
- Build relationships with health plan leaders, proposal peers, and SMEs to support winning and retaining business
- Support development of internal processes and procedures, including scorecards, quality business reports, style guides, and performance measures
Requirements:
- Five plus years of experience as a proposal writer (or equivalent experience)
- 3 years of experience with Medicaid proposals
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office products including SharePoint, Word, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint
- Exceptional organizational, project management, analytical, and innovative problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel up to 15%
- Experience collaborating across departments and organizational levels
- Understanding of Associated Press and internal style guides
- Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Writing, English, Communications, Healthcare Policy, or equivalent work experience
