Job Description
Internal Communications Lead advising Airbnb technology leaders and shaping executive communications. Translating AI and data science work into compelling messages for employees worldwide.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a strategic partner to VP-level client leaders, providing counsel, feedback, and presentation coaching
- Collaborate primarily during Pacific Time core hours
- Develop executive materials including leader-voice Slack posts, email notes, thought leadership, all-hands narratives, organizational change communications, and short-form scripts
- Translate deeply technical work into compelling messages for technical and non-technical employee audiences
- Align functional technology narratives with broader Airbnb company priorities
- Design and produce high-impact connection moments such as all-hands, forums, and leadership offsites
- Define narratives, build presentations, and coach presenters
- Serve as a trusted editor for the wider internal communications team
- Strengthen channel standards and shape content planning and measurement
- Lead or support change management, crisis communications, and special projects
- Set and steward Airbnb's internal voice and style
- Contribute to the editorial direction of the internal communications practice
Requirements:
- 10+ years in strategic internal communications, editorial, or journalism
- Relevant degree in Journalism, Communications, PR, or a related field
- Track record of producing work to a consistently high standard
- Exceptional writing and editing skills
- Fluency with AI and other technical subject matter
- Genuine curiosity about product development and how things work
- Experience counseling senior leaders
- Strong editorial judgment and news sense
- End-to-end communications planning, research, writing, editing, distribution, and measurement skills
- Experience designing effective communications programs and channels
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills
- Fluency in Google Slides and Keynote
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills
- Ability to learn new subject areas or client organizations quickly
- Project management skills, attention to detail, urgency, and follow-through
- Commitment to confidentiality, sound judgment, and business ethics
- Alignment with and passion for Airbnb's mission and community
- Must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity
