Job Description

Senior Manager, People Systems at Vanta overseeing HR technology strategy and implementation. Leading automation and AI integration for optimizing people operations processes.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the configuration, optimization, and governance of Vanta's People tech stack (currently including but not limited to HiBob, Ashby, Culture Amp, Lattice, Jira, Docebo, and Tangelo)
  • Design and maintain a coherent systems architecture across the People function, ensuring clean data flows, reliable integrations, and minimal technical debt
  • Lead the evaluation, selection, and implementation of a modern HRIS solution, establishing a scalable, People Ops-owned system and processes
  • Identify and execute automation opportunities across high-volume People processes using iPaaS tools (e.g., Workato, Boomi), reducing manual work and improving data accuracy
  • Partner with the Head of People Ops & Strategy to build and execute an agentic AI adoption roadmap, identifying high-impact use cases and piloting AI-assisted workflows
  • Serve as the primary point of accountability for system security, compliance, and data privacy across all People platforms
  • Build and maintain People data infrastructure that enables accurate, reliable reporting and analytics for business decision-making
  • Lead system implementations, migrations, and integrations from scoping through post-launch support, ensuring high-quality delivery and stakeholder alignment
  • Manage vendor relationships, renewals, and performance expectations to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with partners across the business to deliver seamless workflows and consistent data across platforms
  • Build and manage a People Systems team, hiring, onboarding, and developing talent while driving accountability and high performance across the function.

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in HR technology with meaningful ownership of HRIS platforms and system integrations at companies with 500+ employees
  • Deep hands-on expertise with Workday and demonstrated ability to configure, troubleshoot, and optimize systems without heavy IT dependency
  • Strong understanding of HR systems architecture, including how ATS, LMS, performance, and compensation tools connect and where integration risks live
  • Demonstrated experience designing and implementing automation using iPaaS tools such as Workato, Boomi, or Zapier
  • Proven ability to evaluate, implement, and optimize case management or ticketing platforms in a People Ops context (e.g., Jira Service Management, Zendesk)
  • Data-first orientation: comfortable with data modeling, defining clean data structures, and ensuring cross-system consistency
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and change management skills. You can translate technical complexity into business language and vice versa
  • High bias toward action and simplicity: you build for scale without over-engineering, and you know when to automate vs. when to keep it human
  • Open to using AI to amplify their skills and strengthen their work - demonstrating curiosity, a willingness to learn, and sound judgment in applying AI responsibly to improve efficiency and impact.
