Job Description

Senior SAP MES Project Manager leading pharmaceutical manufacturing implementations and optimization projects at Fusion Consulting. Driving compliant, on-budget transformations across complex, multi-site pharma operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead end-to-end SAP MES implementation, interface, and upgrade projects from initiation through closure
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget through comprehensive planning and resource optimization
  • Manage cross-functional teams across IT, operations, quality, and regulatory functions
  • Analyze manufacturing processes and system performance to identify optimization opportunities
  • Implement data-driven solutions to improve manufacturing efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, and EMA pharmaceutical regulations
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
  • Facilitate change management activities and adoption of new systems and processes
  • Report project status, progress, and outcomes to senior leadership and key stakeholders
  • Mentor junior project managers

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of project management experience
  • At least 3 years managing SAP MES implementations in pharmaceutical or life sciences environments
  • Expertise in SAP MES interfacing, configuration, customization, and system optimization
  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, GMP standards, and FDA and EMA regulatory requirements
  • Project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent agile certification
  • Ability to manage complex, multi-site projects with cross-functional teams
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
  • Advanced proficiency in project management tools and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience with budget management and resource planning
  • Preferred: SAP S/4HANA implementation experience
  • Preferred: Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent process improvement methodology training
  • Preferred: Change management expertise and experience leading organizational transformation initiatives
  • Preferred: Experience managing multiple pharma manufacturing sites or global project portfolios
