Job Description
Senior Project Manager leading lifecycle execution, finances, risks, and stakeholders for GE Vernova’s gas turbine and power plant projects. Managing complex energy and capital projects.
Responsibilities:
- Lead execution of Simple and Combined Cycle projects within the Heavy Duty Gas Power business
- Manage the full project lifecycle from contract signing through completion of all contractual obligations
- Serve as the primary customer contact for assigned projects
- Lead customer engagement, negotiations, and issue resolution
- Manage internal and external stakeholders, including customers, partners, contractors, and vendors
- Direct end-to-end execution of mega, complex, non-turnkey, product/equipment-only, and combined-cycle projects
- Develop early execution strategies with the ITO Commercial Manager
- Coordinate contract reviews for alignment on requirements, scope, and obligations
- Manage execution using a Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost framework
- Own project revenue, contribution margin, cash, profit and loss, budgets, and operating plans
- Mentor teams on project performance metrics and resolve cost, schedule, performance, and risk trade-offs
- Develop and manage risk and opportunity registers and mitigation actions
- Promote GE Vernova’s Safety Toolkit and prioritize health and safety
- Make risk-based decisions using internal and external inputs
- Provide subject-matter expertise in project execution and/or technical disciplines
- Drive best practices to improve products, processes, and services
- Lead teams solving complex manufacturing, engineering, and production problems
- Apply advanced operational, engineering, and product-management techniques across interdependent workstreams
- Collaborate with partner functions to resolve cross-functional issues and execution constraints
- Provide direct or indirect leadership of complex project teams and resources
- Support Functional Project Managers with escalations
- Present project, business, and technical solutions to senior leadership
- Influence without authority in a matrix organization
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
- Minimum 8 years of Project Management experience within Energy, Construction, or large capital project environments
- Flexibility to travel occasionally to customer sites and other locations up to 25–30% of the time
- Experience and demonstrated understanding of large capital project execution costs and estimates
- Certified Project Management Professional
- Field experience, Project Management, or equivalent experience
- Ability to manage multiple phased projects simultaneously and independently
- Strong customer focus and ability to foster strong relationships
- Experience working with and influencing senior-level leaders
- Strategic thinking, problem solving, business and financial acumen
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated presentation skills and ability to communicate complex messages succinctly
- Inclusive style and strong interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to make independent decisions, manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment, and interface effectively at all organizational levels
- Experience applying data and lean tools and technologies for strategic, operational, and project efficiencies
- Legally authorized to work in the United States
- Successful completion of a drug screen, as applicable
