Job Description

Public Sector Solutions Architect guiding U.S. government customers through GitLab DevSecOps evaluations, proofs of value, and deployment. Advising stakeholders and shaping adoption strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to U.S. government customers on GitLab Enterprise Edition and DevSecOps solutions
  • Own technical evaluation and validation stages of the sales cycle
  • Guide customers through proofs of concept and proofs of value
  • Engage public sector customers onsite and remotely through tailored demos, technical presentations, and hands-on workshops
  • Collaborate with sales to shape and execute account strategies driving GitLab adoption in government environments
  • Design and deliver POCs and POVs, support tenders and audits, and provide technical input to proposals
  • Lead Customer Success Plans documenting technical success criteria and pre-sales handoff details
  • Build relationships with technical and business stakeholders and develop GitLab advocates
  • Channel customer feedback to Product, Sales, Marketing, and other teams
  • Maintain expertise in GitLab, software development, operations, cloud practices, and create reusable customer and partner assets
  • Run Value Stream Assessments to identify software delivery improvement opportunities

Requirements:

  • Background in technical pre-sales, consulting, or information technology roles, ideally with U.S. public sector or federal customers
  • Hands-on experience using GitLab
  • Familiarity with modern software development and operations practices, including CI/CD, DevSecOps, and automation
  • Experience with cloud computing platforms and related technologies in regulated or security-conscious environments
  • Ability to connect technical solutions to measurable business or mission outcomes
  • Ability to advise senior stakeholders on tradeoffs and options
  • Strong, confident communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to lead customer meetings, demos, and value-focused conversations
  • Openness to learning, seeking feedback, and building new skills
  • Familiarity with GitLab's Solutions Architect handbook and related resources
