Job Description
Cisco Solutions Engineer advising customers and partners on Splunk and Cisco solutions. Designing technical sales strategies, demonstrations, and solutions to drive account growth.
Responsibilities:
- Own the Cisco technical relationship with customers and partners
- Provide technical solutions addressing customer and partner business needs
- Collaborate with account and connected sales teams on customer plans and customer success
- Lead engagements with IT, decision-makers, and lines of business
- Increase penetration through cross-selling and upselling and displace competition
- Influence technical sales decisions and translate business needs into technical requirements
- Move deals through the technical sales process
- Design and present relevant solutions
- Manage virtual support teams of sales resources
- Contribute to account planning and identify upselling opportunities
- Maintain current expertise in Cisco’s portfolio
- Build relationships with technical and business decision-makers
- Identify customer pain points and tailor solutions
- Participate in demand generation and enablement campaigns
- Analyze data, develop content, and provide status updates
- Translate requirements into solutions across the Cisco portfolio
- Use demonstrations to help customers visualize solution outcomes
- Analyze the competitive landscape to position Cisco’s value and win business
- Foster cross-functional collaboration with internal teams and external partners
- Lead educational efforts about Cisco solutions and value
- Identify shifts and reprioritize in a complex sales environment
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree plus 5 years of related experience, or Master’s degree plus 3 years of related experience, or PhD plus 0 years of related experience
- Strong knowledge of Cisco’s portfolio
- Specialized or architecture perspective in one or more domains
- Ability to translate customer and partner business needs into technical requirements
- Technical sales expertise
- Ability to design and present solutions based on technical and business requirements
- Ability to analyze customer environments, markets, competitors, and competitive tactics
- Ability to develop strategic customer plans and lead solution design
- Ability to use demonstrations to communicate real-world outcomes of Cisco solutions
- Ability to collaborate with account teams, sales teams, internal stakeholders, and external partners
