Job Description
Staff Accountant managing accounts payable, expense reporting, reconciliations, and financial reporting. Supporting Choreo’s growing national wealth management firm and Finance leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Own the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring accurate and timely vendor payments, strong internal controls, and positive experiences for vendors and internal stakeholders
- Maintain approval chains, set up new vendors, manage W-9s and payment instructions, control the A/P email box, enter vendor invoices in Microsoft Business Central, complete year-end 1099 reporting, manage accruals, and resolve vendor inquiries
- Manage employee expense reporting in Chrome River, including employee records, approval chains, coding reviews, ERP imports, payments, and employee questions
- Assist with monthly close procedures, journal entries, and accruals
- Prepare account reconciliations and supporting subledgers for cash, liabilities, fixed assets, payroll, and other accounts
- Assist with Accounts Receivable, including customer setup, invoice generation, and cash application
- Provide ad hoc reporting and research; support the Controller and CFO with requests, acquisition due diligence, audits, state and local filings, and other projects
- Answer business questions regarding expenses coded to P&L
- Identify opportunities to automate, streamline, and improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting
- Assist in preparing and analyzing monthly operating results, including budget-to-actual and forecast variance investigations
- Support strong internal controls, documentation, and accounting procedures
Requirements:
- Four-year degree from an accredited university, preferably in accounting or finance
- Minimum 2 years accounting experience with emphasis in AP/AR
- Working knowledge of GAAP and basic accounting principles
- Strong analytical, Excel, and problem-solving skills
- Experience with enterprise-grade accounting software (Microsoft Business Central a plus)
- Strong written and oral communication skills; quick to respond
- Attention to detail and the ability to spot errors and inconsistencies
- Team player with the ability to work independently
- Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining quality levels
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fully remote environment while maintaining strong communication and responsiveness
