Job Description

Vice President, Allied Medical role focusing on healthcare liability and relationship management with brokers for Hamilton. Collaborating and contributing to the strategy for growing and diversifying the Healthcare portfolio.

Responsibilities:

  • Underwrite healthcare liability insurance for long-term care facilities
  • Contribute to Hamilton’s strategy to grow and diversify the Healthcare portfolio
  • Establish and maintain underwriting standards
  • Drive the general use of technology for better profitability
  • Originate, grow and develop high-level market relationships with brokers
  • Use critical thinking skills to negotiate terms
  • Assist in training and mentoring of new employees

Requirements:

  • 8 plus years underwriting experience (handling healthcare classes)
  • Strong technical reputation in the U.S. healthcare liability market
  • Proven track record of generating new leads
  • Ability to attract business from existing relationships
  • Appreciation of both subjective and objective aspects to underwriting risk
  • Breadth of understanding of market trends
  • Proven ability to generate an underwriting profit
  • Motivated, self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven decision-making skills
  • Good management, coaching and mentoring skills
  • Keen attention to detail, highly analytical and excellent problem-solving capability
