Job Description
Account Executive selling Abbott Molecular Diagnostics solutions to Northern California hospitals, labs, and women’s health offices. Driving territory growth through strategic capital sales, new business, and renewals.
Responsibilities:
- Sell the full stack of Molecular products to healthcare facilities, including hospitals, IDNs, reference labs, and women’s health offices
- Drive exponential territory growth by closing new business and expanding existing business
- Work with multiple stakeholders, including C-suite executives, to expedite complex decisions and achieve quick wins
- Identify and cultivate new business opportunities across the territory
- Develop and deploy best practices using customer insights
- Prioritize and plan effectively to streamline business operations
- Leverage cross-functional teams and resources in a collaborative environment
- Build trust and long-term customer partnerships by understanding needs and delivering win-win solutions
- Anticipate sales shortfalls and implement contingency plans
- Manage complex, long-term capital sales cycles
- Understand client goals across laboratory, procurement, medical director, clinical engineering, and C-suite stakeholders
- Quantify the impact of Abbott solutions
- Collaborate with the Enterprise Account Manager to secure business in large hospital systems
- Manage and drive renewals for non-enterprise accounts to ensure customer retention and satisfaction
- Travel throughout the assigned territory and other US locations as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 4+ years of relevant experience
- Experience in capital sales and/or multi-stakeholder environments
- Experience developing and selling customized solutions to senior-level/C-suite executives
- Proven success in strategic sales, including exceeding plans and turning around underperforming territories
- Innovation and change management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products
- Proficiency in Salesforce.com Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
- Valid Driver’s License
- Ability to travel 50–75% in the assigned territory and other US locations
- Preferred: Sales experience in diagnostics or laboratory, preferably capital equipment sales
- Ability to learn technical and scientific knowledge and utilize it in selling situations
