Job Description

Sales and business development leader driving strategic sales initiatives for Ciena’s subsea business across Asia Pacific and Japan. Building executive relationships and executing account strategies for customer success.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead sales and business development strategy for major Asia Pacific and Japan direct and consortium subsea accounts, with ownership of overall customer relationships
  • Build and sustain trusted executive-level relationships that strengthen customer intimacy and limit competitive penetration
  • Define and execute account strategies that deliver against quarterly and annual bookings, revenue, and margin objectives
  • Drive opportunity creation, qualification, and pipeline expansion with strong focus on execution and forecast accuracy
  • Partner across Ciena teams, including executive leadership, product management, product marketing, legal, commercial, and sales operations, to deliver complex global programs
  • Own end-to-end sales and fulfillment activities across global customer engagements
  • Maintain deep understanding of customer network strategies, business drivers, and long-term investment priorities

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience managing major or global customer accounts with a proven sales performance track record
  • 5+ years of experience across sales, systems engineering, product management, or a combination of these disciplines
  • Strong technical knowledge of optical networking with a solid understanding of subsea networks
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex sales strategies and methodologies for large system sales
  • Strong executive-level business communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while driving new business growth and exceeding targets
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, science, engineering, or equivalent professional experience
