Job Description

Remote 401(k) Account Manager supporting retirement-plan clients and producers across the United States. Managing plan implementation, vendor coordination, compliance data, investment reviews, and client service.

Responsibilities:

  • Support 401(k) Producers with sales support and provide customer service to assigned clients
  • Manage procurement, placement, and implementation activities for defined contribution plans
  • Maintain ongoing client contact and assist with day-to-day service issues and vendor management
  • Work with vendors and Third Party Administrators to automate data collection and analysis
  • Schedule and attend client meetings for prospects and existing clients
  • Maintain client and due diligence files
  • Record meeting notes and prepare minutes for investment committees
  • Prepare investment reviews and investment committee meeting materials and booklets
  • Assist with plan applications, plan document review, and plan implementation
  • Assist auditors with Form 5500 preparations and data collection
  • Assist vendors with year-end testing data collection
  • Assist with or conduct participant enrollment meetings
  • Support the 401(k) department with general industry knowledge
  • Research and support initiatives to improve efficiency, productivity, compliance, and profitability
  • Complete Requests for Proposals
  • Manage simple plans with under $10 million in assets and under 100 participants
  • Collect fees, reconcile accounts, and resolve outstanding balances within 60 days of invoicing
  • Maintain complete and accurate agency management system data
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Three (3) or more years of related work experience in 401k account management
  • Understanding of retirement plan types and operations
  • Knowledge of ERISA guidelines and regulations
  • Experience with small to mid-size clients (less than 250)
  • Valid Series 65 license required
  • Securities license (SIE, Series 6 or 7 and 63) preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building, negotiating, and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability and motivation to work independently
  • Good time management skills
  • Good planning, organizational, and prioritization skills
  • Advanced analytical skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
