Job Description
Associate Sales Strategy Manager supporting category and customer strategies through data analysis at PurposeBuilt Brands. Collaborating with teams to drive business growth and create retail-focused narratives.
Responsibilities:
- Analyze customer POS, syndicated, and shopper data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks across categories and customers
- Synthesize multiple data sources into clear insights and actionable recommendations
- Partner with Business Analytics to enhance weekly/monthly tracking tools and ensure outputs are decision-oriented
- Support line review preparation through performance analysis, competitive assessment, and opportunity sizing
- Support reporting and analysis that informs business decisions
- Develop retailer-focused selling stories that connect brand strategy with category and shopper insights
- Create impactful presentation materials using clear data visualizations (charts, graphs) and concise takeaways
- Support customer-facing discussions by translating analytics into compelling, actionable narratives
- Ensure deliverables are polished, clear, and aligned to both brand and retailer objectives
- Strong working knowledge of category dynamics, shopper behavior, and channel-specific trends
- Monitor competitive activity and channel shifting, surfacing implications and supporting action planning
- Support multi-channel strategy development by identifying differences in shopper needs and retail execution
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree (emphasis in business, marketing, finance, or related field)
- 3–5 years of experience in Sales Strategy, Category Management, Analytics, or related commercial role
- Advanced analytical skills and computer software proficiency (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, etc.)
- Strong familiarity with syndicated data, measures and software (e.g. NPD, IRI, Nielson, etc.)
- Perform analysis across a wide variety of category business issues and make fact-based recommendations
- Must be able to link data analytics to winning growth strategies
- Critical thinking, self-starter with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to build strong sustainable business relationships with customers and customer teams
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
