Job Description
Bioinformatics Engineer helping pharmaceutical customers deploy and optimize Seqera’s Nextflow and workflow platform. Troubleshooting cloud and HPC environments while driving product adoption.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted technical partner to a portfolio of Seqera’s largest enterprise customers across big pharma
- Build customer relationships and drive engagement and adoption of Seqera Platform, Nextflow, Studios, Fusion, and Wave
- Work directly inside customer environments to deploy, scale, and deliver value from Seqera products across cloud and HPC
- Troubleshoot technical challenges alongside customer scientists and engineers
- Support strategic account health, retention, and expansion by surfacing risks and demonstrating ongoing value
- Deliver scoped Services engagements including onboarding, pipeline optimization, custom workflow support, and best-practice guidance
- Run and support technical syncs, product upgrades, proofs of concept, and workshops
- Explain technical concepts and communicate findings to technical and non-technical customer audiences
- Collaborate with Customer Experience, Product, and R&D teams and act as the voice of the customer
- Contribute to engagement tooling and the knowledge base to track account health and enable proactive, data-driven engagement
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Computer Science, or a related field
- Hands-on experience developing and running Nextflow pipelines (nf-core and/or custom) in an academic or professional setting
- Comfortable working in a Linux command-line environment and scripting with Bash and/or Python
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), with a willingness to go deeper
- Experience using Git/GitHub for code management
- Genuine customer-oriented attitude
- Self-motivated and proactive, able to work independently and as part of a team while juggling multiple accounts and priorities
- Great interpersonal and communication skills, able to explain technical concepts clearly to scientists, engineers, and less technical stakeholders
- Critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and organization
- Creativity and curiosity across solutions provided to clients
- Application must include a link to a public code repository and a short narrative describing ability, growth over time, and use of AI without handing over judgment
