Campaign Project Manager managing planning, production, and execution of membership campaigns for Trout Unlimited. Owning direct mail and coordinating digital fundraising efforts for membership engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary project manager for all direct mail campaign workflows like acquisition, renewal, reactivation, and conservation appeals — coordinating with mail vendors, printers, and designers to keep projects on schedule and on budget.
  • Own production timelines for each mail campaign from creative brief through final drop, including copy development, data pulls, segmentation requests, proofing, approvals, and file delivery.
  • Coordinate with the Director of Annual Giving and Campaigns on campaign strategy, audience segmentation, and gift structure for each mailing.
  • Manage vendor estimates, invoices, print specs, and postage budgets.
  • Track expenses against campaign budgets and flag variances early.
  • Support digital fundraising and membership efforts by coordinating email, landing page, and online campaign components that align with direct mail touchpoints.
  • Work closely with the Communications and Digital Marketing teams to ensure consistent messaging, creative, and storytelling across mail and digital channels.
  • Help coordinate emerging programs such as monthly giving and mid-level donor campaigns as they scale.
  • Build and maintain detailed campaign calendars and review schedules for all concurrent campaigns across channels.
  • Track campaign milestones, flag risks early, and ensure timelines, approvals, and deliverables stay on track across all active projects.
  • Organize post-campaign results, document learnings, and help identify opportunities to improve performance, reduce costs, and increase response rates over time.
  • Partner with analytics and data teams to support segmentation testing, source code tracking, and campaign performance reporting.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in campaign management, direct response fundraising, membership marketing, or a related field.
  • Hands-on experience managing direct mail production workflows, including working with external print and mail vendors.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to organize complex details, manage concurrent deadlines, and keep multiple campaigns on track simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Careful attention to detail with strong proofreading and quality-control habits.
  • Comfort working across teams and building productive relationships with colleagues, vendors, and partners.
  • Ability to use data and campaign results to inform decisions and improve future performance.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience in nonprofit fundraising, membership, or annual giving programs.
  • Familiarity with direct response strategy, donor segmentation, and supporter journey design.
  • Experience with CRM platforms used for donor and member management (e.g., NetForum, CharityEngine, Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, or similar).
  • Experience with email marketing platforms and basic familiarity with digital campaign execution.
  • Experience in a fast-paced environment with many stakeholders and overlapping deadlines.

Benefits:

  • Flexible work arrangements
  • Professional development
