Job Description

Project Manager IV leading cross-functional virtual health initiatives for Sutter Health. Managing complex telehealth projects, workflow redesign, metrics, risks, and healthcare regulatory alignment.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct cross-functional teams driving regional, operating unit, or system initiatives, strategies, issue resolutions, and alignment across Sutter Health
  • Plan, organize, monitor, and oversee three or more concurrent, longer-term projects with significant size, scope, budget, or impact
  • Develop project work plans and establish project communication and risk management plans
  • Redesign workflow processes, develop and measure metrics, and analyze return on investment
  • Assign project tasks and oversee Project Managers and Project Coordinators
  • Independently manage assigned projects under broad policy guidelines and exercise expert authority
  • Use Project Management Institute tools and standards to keep projects on track and integrated with other initiatives
  • Maintain working knowledge of telehealth policy and regulation to guide virtual health programs and projects
  • Collaborate with executive leaders, sponsors, operations, medical groups, service lines, informatics, and digital teams
  • Apply healthcare systems knowledge, including clinical operations, care delivery models, HIPAA, and CMS regulations
  • Leverage virtual care experience in telehealth platforms, remote monitoring, and digital health trends

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, health care administration, public health administration, or another related field
  • Equivalent experience accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma
  • 8 years of recent relevant experience
  • Thorough knowledge of project management processes, including resource allocation, risk, issues, time, financial, and quality management
  • Experience with monitoring, reporting, documentation, and record keeping
  • Significant business background understanding project operations, technical issues, and industry obstacles
  • Ability to direct, monitor, train, coach, and assign work to project staff
  • Ability to work with people across disciplines and communicate clearly, concisely, and tactfully with management, vendors, peers, and staff
  • Adaptability and flexibility managing deadline pressure, ambiguity, and change
  • Ability to plan and facilitate meetings
  • Thorough knowledge of Lean management systems
  • Ability to gain cooperation and support through influence and persuasion
  • Conceptual, analytical, negotiation, problem-solving, and actionable recommendation development skills
  • Working knowledge of telehealth policy and regulation
  • Healthcare systems knowledge, including clinical operations, care delivery models, HIPAA, and CMS
  • Virtual care experience with telehealth platforms, remote monitoring, and digital health trends
  • Certifications in digital health, telemedicine, or healthcare leadership are ideal candidate qualifications (e.g., CPHIMS, FACHE, CMPE, Telehealth Certification Institute credentials)
