Job Description
Data Support Specialist at Zoetis developing and automating data handling tools for R&D. Collaborating with scientists and technology groups to improve data management processes.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with scientists to understand their data management needs
- Author and/or configure templates and tools to manage data
- Write maintainable, tested code in Python or similar programming language
- Partner with ADS technology groups to understand available tools and platforms
- Maintain a strong focus on responsiveness and patience to support scientists
- Continuously research and learn about the latest technologies and trends to improve development processes
- Provide administration, technical support and troubleshooting for existing applications
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or relevant technical or scientific discipline
- 5+ years of experience developing and automating data handling tools
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally between data partners and development teams
- Proven interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven problem-solving experience with discipline and determination
- Intermediate or higher proficiency with Excel, Alteryx, BioRails/Morphit or other data tools
- Python and SQL experience is a plus
- Experience using version control systems and processes
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or within a team and manage multiple projects simultaneously
