Job Description
Director of Business Development, Commercialization at Cencora focusing on pharmaceutical commercialization in Canada. Senior dealmaker driving innovative therapies through in-licensing and partnerships.
Responsibilities:
- This role is in support of Cencora's patient and provider support and pharma commercialization services in Canada marketed through our Innomar Strategies business.
- You'll be a senior dealmaker to help bring innovative therapies to Canada.
- You’ll seek in-licensing, distributorship, and other commercialization partnerships, run diligence, shape compelling proposals and support negotiation of agreements.
- Lead the identification, targeting, evaluation, and execution of in-licensing opportunities to expand our commercialization portfolio.
- Conduct due diligence on potential in-licensing candidates, including scientific, clinical, regulatory, and commercial assessments.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with global partners, biotech companies, and Business Development (BD) pharmaceutical manufacturing leads.
- Lead, in partnership with operational, financial, and legal partners, the negotiation and finalization of in-licensing agreements, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and financial goals.
- Collaborate with pre-commercialization teams to assess the feasibility of successfully operationalizing products.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 15 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or healthcare industry, with a strong focus on in-licensing, lifecycle management, and deal making including identifying, engaging, and securing new partners/assets.
- Proven track record of success in business development and the in-licensing of pharmaceutical products, including due diligence, negotiations, and deal execution.
- Demonstrated ability to build and convert a new business pipeline (partner targets, inbound/outbound leads) and consistently advance opportunities from first contact through signed agreement.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in sales, marketing, or client-facing roles within the healthcare service industry.
- Understanding of the Canadian Regulatory landscape and processes in bringing a pharmaceutical to market.
- University degree in Science, Business, Management, or related discipline (advanced degree preferred).
- Demonstrated experience in commercialization and regulatory business development.
- Negotiation and key account management expertise.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Project and time management expertise.
- Proficiency in MS Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Bilingualism is an asset.
