Job Description

Federal business development director managing pipelines and capture strategies. Supporting Magellan Federal’s health, readiness, and workforce support mission growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage a strategically aligned federal business development pipeline supporting health, readiness, and workforce support mission areas
  • Lead assigned opportunities from initial identification through qualification
  • Work with capture management to assess opportunity fit, strategy, and next steps
  • Identify client requirements, market trends, and competitive dynamics to position Magellan Federal for sustainable growth
  • Collaborate across internal functional teams to develop qualification artifacts and support capture and proposal efforts
  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, and industry partners
  • Provide guidance to less experienced business development staff
  • Develop and execute federal account and opportunity strategies aligned with strategic goals, capabilities, client needs, market trends, and competitive environment
  • Manage opportunities according to standard operating procedures, including identification, qualification, documentation, and lifecycle tracking
  • Develop and present Identification and Qualification gate reviews with client, technical, competitive, teaming, pricing, and risk insights
  • Support capture and proposal managers with solution development, teaming strategies, pricing approaches, and proposal content
  • Support continuous improvement, audits, and compliance for business development tools and processes

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of business development experience supporting federal programs, including experience in health, readiness, workforce support, and behavioral health
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, healthcare administration, or a related field
  • Working knowledge of federal acquisition processes
  • Experience engaging with federal civilian and defense agency stakeholders
  • Ability to develop and execute account and opportunity strategies aligned with organizational capabilities, client needs, market trends, and revenue goals
  • Ability to lead opportunity identification and qualification activities and develop decision-ready gate review materials
  • Ability to collaborate across internal teams, consultants, industry partners, and client stakeholders
  • Experience developing and delivering executive-level presentations on account strategy, opportunities, pipeline, and execution
  • Track record of meeting or exceeding business development performance targets, including revenue growth objectives
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Salesforce or similar CRM tools
  • Must comply with position-specific security responsibilities, security controls, legal, regulatory, contractual, and internal policy requirements
