Job Description
Remote Distributor Territory Manager driving demand for Keystone’s commercial and industrial lighting products. Managing sales agencies, distributor relationships, customer training, territory travel, and market growth.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the assigned territory and drive product demand
- Work with sales agencies, distributor customers, and contractors to educate them about Keystone products
- Provide sales training to sales agencies and distributor customers
- Develop long-term relationships with specifiers, customers, sales agents, and end-users
- Oversee and manage independent sales agency performance against company goals and standards
- Develop sales plans with sales agencies and department leadership
- Analyze sales trends and develop strategies to capture opportunities
- Maintain expertise in Keystone and competitor products, pricing, and market trends
- Report market findings to team management
- Travel throughout each market to visit distributors, specifiers, and end-users
- Maintain contact with existing customers for potential ongoing orders
- Develop and manage contact information for current decision-makers
- Display at and attend trade shows
- Cold call to develop new business
- Collaborate with Inside Sales on current and future opportunities
- Advise the product team on market trends
Requirements:
- Bachelor's in Business or a related field is preferred
- Experience in the lighting industry is required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exceptional ability to listen and formulate responses tailored to others' needs
- Proficiency with computers and software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM software
- Ability to learn new computer systems
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy
- Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
- Exceptional relationship management and customer service skills
- Must live within the supported territory: Indiana, Kentucky, Arkansas, or Memphis (West TN)
- Regular in-territory travel is required
- Ability to work independently from a home office when not traveling
