Job Description

Electrical Field Engineer supporting construction and installation of electrical systems in data center projects. Ensuring project milestones are met while collaborating with design teams and construction partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the on-site installation, quality assurance, functional checkout, testing, and commissioning of critical electrical infrastructure - including medium/low voltage switchgear, power transformers, switchboards, protection and control, UPS systems, and electrical equipment internal to the data center.
  • Monitor the deployment of advanced power backup and conditioning systems, including medium voltage UPS, backup generators, and BESS.
  • Support and direct involvement in substation protection system management
  • Technical support for RFI process
  • Technical support for temporary power and electrical switching
  • Track construction progress against project milestones and ensure adherence to Basis of Design and engineering specifications - without compromising speed.
  • Support rapid resolution of RFIs (Requests for Information) and Field Engineering Directives (FEDs) between the contractors and the internal design team.
  • Own critical lessons learned and field service bulletins that have design ramifications, so that they can be carried back into specs and templating
  • Support all levels 1-5 of commissioning activities in partnership with Crusoe’s Cx team, reviewing commissioning documents for technical accuracy and assurance of design intent met
  • Be an electrical safety champion in partnership with Crusoe’s construction partners

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
  • 5+ years of experience in mission-critical environments supporting construction and/or operations.
  • Deep practical understanding of electrical power distribution equipment assembly and installation.
  • Hands-on experience with on site construction and partnering with third-party general contractors and electrical subcontractors.
  • Strong project management skills to assist in monitoring schedules, spotting bottlenecks, and driving on time completion in a technical position
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex field installation issues and implement practical, code-compliant solutions on the fly.
  • Flexibility to travel frequently or reside near assigned project site - minimum of 50% of time on site.
