Job Description

Environmental Technical Editor supporting JSI’s broadband permitting and telecommunications initiatives. Editing technical deliverables, managing document systems, and providing regional administrative support.

Responsibilities:

  • Edit and format client-facing deliverables, including reports, letters, proposals, and other technical documents, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and adherence to JSI standards.
  • Maintain team resumes, templates, style guides, Site Tracker information, and SHPO access tracking and controls.
  • Support 508 Compliance efforts to ensure deliverables meet applicable accessibility requirements.
  • Coordinate the production of physical deliverables, including printing, packaging, and mailing.
  • Provide administrative and document support to teams across the East region, managing multiple priorities and deadlines independently.
  • Collaborate with project teams and internal stakeholders to ensure deliverables are complete, polished, and ready for client or agency submission.
  • Advance broadband and telecommunications initiatives that expand connectivity and drive digital inclusion.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in English or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 5–10 years of experience in technical editing, document production, or a related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word and strong knowledge of document formatting, styles, templates, and editing tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail and organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines independently.
  • Strong understanding of document quality control and the ability to maintain consistency across complex technical deliverables.
  • Experience with SAA style and/or Zotero.
  • Experience working with federal, state, and local agencies and familiarity with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) and NEPA.
  • Experience with Salesforce, 508 Compliance, or an engineering or technical consulting environment.
