Job Description

Field Account Manager selling MRO and Jan/San supplies for HD Supply, a major industrial distributor. Growing territory revenue through prospecting, customer visits, and strategic account management.

Responsibilities:

  • Sell MRO supplies and Jan/San products to an established customer portfolio
  • Prospect new business and drive sales and growth
  • Build and maintain customer, vendor, and internal relationships
  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans for the existing customer base
  • Exceed sales and profit targets in a designated territory
  • Secure profitable new accounts through industry research, networking, and proactive prospecting
  • Plan, forecast, and report sales activities and competitive pricing tactics
  • Generate strategic sales call schedules and conduct face-to-face customer visits
  • Promote value-added solutions, navigate objections, and enhance sales revenue
  • Develop and maintain a qualified managed-account pipeline using a CRM tool
  • Use cold-call strategies to grow territory accounts
  • Maintain industry-specific product knowledge and understanding of specialized services
  • Use Salesforce reporting and data analysis to identify territory growth opportunities
  • Review customer portfolios and act on underperforming accounts
  • Collaborate with inside sales to support business growth and development

Requirements:

  • Proactive sales professional with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize selling activities and administrative tasks
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal team members
  • Experience with consultative/solution selling preferred
  • Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM
  • Proven ability to meet or exceed sales goals
  • 3+ years of business-to-business (B2B) field sales experience
  • Ability to operate a personal vehicle consistently more than 50% of the average work week
  • Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report required
  • Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline
  • Alternatively, MS/MA and generally 3–5 years of experience in a related field
  • Certification is required in some areas
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time
  • Ability to handle moderate physical discomfort and lift or handle materials or equipment weighing 8–20 pounds
