Job Description
Field Service Engineer installing, repairing, and maintaining SCIEX mass spectrometry and laboratory instruments. Serving Phoenix and Tucson customer sites while working remotely with up to 50% overnight travel.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain, install, and repair instrumentation at internal and external customer sites, including strategic accounts
- Independently resolve assigned customer and technical issues
- Mentor and develop less experienced staff members
- Perform high-quality installation, repair, and maintenance on mass spectrometers, HPLC, and/or capillary electrophoresis instrumentation
- Perform qualification services and customer training
- Support customer satisfaction at strategic accounts
- Complete administrative duties including logging service activities, expense reporting, and inventory management
- Report to the District Service Manager within the Field Technical Service organization
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree (A.S./A.A.S) or Bachelor's degree (B.S./B.A.) in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Engineering or equivalent experience (i.e. Military Certificates in electronics or avionics)
- At least 5 years LCMS and/or capillary electrophoresis experience
- Prior experience using and/or servicing mass spectrometry or scientific instrumentation
- Meet Vendor Credentialing requirements
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally by vehicle or airplane, with up to 50% overnight travel
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Ability and willingness to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to walk, climb, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, and bend at the waist
- Ability to troubleshoot and follow problem-solving procedures
- Experience with electrical and electrical mechanical technology
- Ability to follow all required safety protocols
