Job Description
Field Service Technician providing on-site and remote technical support for integrated production lines in the packaging sector. Collaborating with customers and internal teams to troubleshoot and enhance equipment performance.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and perform repairs and modifications on mechanical, electrical, or programmable controls for complex automated and integrated industrial packaging equipment at customer sites
- Assist in the installation, start-up, checkout, validation, and testing of existing, upgraded, and new equipment
- Work independently and decisively to analyze and effectively resolve faults or malfunctions
- Interact with personnel at customer sites to provide insight on the safety, proper operation, and preventative maintenance of equipment
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships through oral and written communication and reporting
- Act as liaison between customers, as well as internal departments, to ensure progress and quality of service
- Provide both remote and onsite technical support to end use customers
Requirements:
- A degree in Mechatronics or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the packaging industry
- Proficient in PLC programming, settings, and parameters
- Working knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic controls systems
- Understanding of and ability to read floorplan layouts, electrical schematics, instrumentation diagrams, programming logic schema
- Proficient in structured troubleshooting techniques
- Excellent customer and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft office suite
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and passport
- Willingness and ability to travel on short notice
