Job Description
ABB Field Service Manager leading electrical service operations, field technicians, workshops, and profitable growth across California. Driving customer retention, KPI performance, safety, quality, and continuous service improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Lead operational excellence and profitable growth in the electrical service (ELSE) market
- Own area business performance, including health and safety, productivity, quality, and critical financial metrics
- Lead field tech service resources dispatched across the district
- Deliver preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, commissioning, and modernization solutions for ABB customers
- Manage district workshops to deliver shop-based repairs and modernization offerings
- Drive safe, high-quality, and timely execution
- Collaborate with ABB regional service groups and functional teams
- Lead strategic growth priorities and customer-success initiatives in the district
- Partner with Sales and Commercial teams to deliver solutions for ABB customers
- Ensure customer retention through superior customer service in field service activities
- Drive continuous improvement of field service quality and first-time-right implementation
- Monitor field service KPIs and drive corrective actions
- Guide continuous improvement culture and implement improvements to achieve service excellence
- Maintain high standards for safety and housekeeping and assure environmental-regulation compliance
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business Field with 5–8 years’ experience, or no degree and at least 8 years of relevant experience
- Knowledge of field service operations
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong communication and team-oriented mindset
- Strong planning and prioritization skills
- Strong customer focus
- Practical experience with SAP, MS Word, MS Project, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and other office software
- Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications
- Experience dealing with cultural diversity in a global business environment
- Maintain high standards for safety and housekeeping and assure compliance with environmental regulations
- Currently authorized to work and live in the US
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
