Job Description
Freelance English-to-Arabic Translator translating Naseej’s technical conservation handbook. Producing accurate Arabic content, terminology glossaries, and publication-ready proofreading for a digital transformation company.
Responsibilities:
- Translate the Conservation Handbook from English into Arabic
- Maintain linguistic quality, technical accuracy, original meaning, and context
- Translate conservation procedures, treatment methodologies, materials, equipment, tools, and handling instructions
- Develop and apply a consistent bilingual glossary of specialized terminology
- Preserve the original document's structure and organization
- Identify ambiguous or specialized terminology and seek clarification when necessary
- Proofread and review the Arabic translation
- Incorporate review comments and corrections
- Deliver a complete Arabic translation of the RSM Conservation Handbook
- Provide a bilingual English-Arabic glossary
- Provide a reviewed and proofread Arabic version ready for technical review and publication
- Provide unresolved terminology questions or passages requiring clarification, if applicable
Requirements:
- Fluency in English and Arabic implied by the English-to-Arabic translation assignment
- Ability to accurately translate conservation, preservation, restoration, and treatment terminology
- Ability to translate technical procedures, methodologies, materials, equipment, tools, and handling instructions
- Ability to develop and apply a specialized technical glossary
- Ability to preserve document structure, headings, tables, captions, references, warnings, and technical notes
- Ability to proofread, review, and incorporate corrections
- Ability to consult reliable technical references or subject-matter experts when needed
- Any Arab nationalities may apply
