Job Description
Freelance over-the-phone interpreter providing Nordic Creole-English interpretation. Supporting non-English speakers with accurate healthcare and legal terminology.
Responsibilities:
- Provide clear and accurate over-the-phone interpretation between languages
- Assist non-English speakers in various activities
- Provide over-the-phone interpretation services
- Impart thought, purpose, spirit, emotions, and tone from the source language into the target language
- Comply with applicable ethics and standards
- Be aware of industry-specific vocabulary, particularly healthcare and medical terminology
Requirements:
- Native in Finnish, Swedish, or Danish
- English at C1 level
- One year of interpretation experience is considered a plus
- Good knowledge of medical/legal terminology is considered a plus
- Windows 10 or newer with Pentium, i3, Core 2 Duo 2.1 GHz minimum, or i5/i7 2.4 GHz and above recommended
- Minimum 4 GB RAM; 8 GB recommended
- Stable and fast internet connection; Wi-Fi is not allowed
- Internet speed of 4 Mbps download/upload
- Noise-canceling wired USB headset
- Willingness to learn and grow professionally and personally
