Job Description
Genetic Counseling Administrative Coordinator ensuring efficient coordination of patient and clinic-related activities. High-level administrative role with genetics and healthcare team responsibilities in Trumbull, CT.
Responsibilities:
- Plays a critical role in supporting the genetic counseling team
- Ensures efficient coordination of patient and clinic-related activities by maintaining clear communication channels between internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Responsible for a wide range of administrative functions, including review of submitted referral documentation, triaging inbound phone calls, serving as a primary point of contact for patients and clinic partners, responding to general inquiries, and scheduling patient genetic counseling consultations.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Ability and willingness to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and technologies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, and work under deadlines.
- Prior experience within a genetics or healthcare setting strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with basic interpretation of genetic testing results is highly desirable.
- Experience with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and/or Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems preferred.
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
- Willingness to complete a Genetic Counseling Assistant course after approximately 1 year of successful service.
