Job Description

Government Affairs Representative enhancing Binti's state government affairs strategy. Driving key partnerships and complex advocacy efforts in transforming social services for families.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner closely with the Senior Director of Government Affairs to execute and scale Binti’s state government affairs strategy across multiple states and stakeholders
  • Serve as a consistent point of contact for state lobbyists, ensuring clear goals, follow-through, and accountability
  • Coordinate and participate in meetings with governors’ offices, chiefs of staff, policy directors, legislative staff, and other senior officials
  • Track and manage ongoing state government engagements, including action items, follow-ups, timelines, and outcomes
  • Help ensure lobbyists and external partners are fully aligned on Binti’s product offerings, positioning, and priorities
  • Support scheduling and coordination across internal teams (including sales and government strategy) to ensure effective participation in key meetings and events
  • Own and manage a portfolio of strategic partnerships with consulting firms, former agency leaders, policy influencers, and other organizations in the child welfare and CCWIS ecosystem
  • Develop and maintain thoughtful engagement strategies for each partner, including goals, cadence, and internal alignment
  • Represent Binti confidently with external partners, instilling trust and credibility at an executive level
  • Monitor and synthesize relevant legislative, regulatory, and political developments impacting child welfare and public sector technology
  • Draft and review policy briefs, presentations, memos, and briefing materials for internal and external audiences
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of contacts, engagements, and partnership activity
  • Support planning and execution of Binti’s participation in organizations and events such as RGA, DGA, and similar associations
  • Attend meetings, hearings, and events as needed, including occasional travel (up to 25%)

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in government affairs, public policy, legislative affairs, consulting, or a closely related field
  • Direct experience with state government affairs strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to work confidently with senior stakeholders, including governors’ offices, legislative leadership, and executive partners
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage many parallel workstreams without losing momentum
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Comfort having direct, sometimes difficult conversations to drive accountability and results
  • Ability to operate independently while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams
  • Interest in child welfare, government innovation, and mission-driven work
  • Thrives in a startup environment, comfortable with ambiguity and evolving priorities
