Job Description

Temporary Human Resources Assistant assisting the HR Manager to manage local and state agency regulations. Supporting payroll compliance and agency communications with a focus on accuracy and detail.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist HR Manager with tracking, troubleshooting, and resolving the multiple local and state agency registrations and filings from the states we operate, e.g., unemployment, state income tax, etc.
  • Ensure that for every state employ in, that the HR Manager or the CEO, can access the respective accounts via telephone or the respective agency’s online portal.
  • Compile a database of up-to-date credentials to access aforementioned portals.
  • Work with our payroll provider, Paylocity, to ensure they have all the Power of Attorneys (POA) they require to file and pay all payroll related taxes.

Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of one (1) year of experience as an HR Coordinator or Generalist.
  • Must have experience working with payroll related tax agencies and understand how they work.
  • Computer literate with intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Patience. You will be spending a lot of time on the phone communicating with government agencies.
  • Initiative.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and does not require micromanagement.
  • Preferred, but not mandatory: Experience with Paylocity.
  • HR certification from SHRM or HRCI.
  • Prefer someone based in the Eastern Time Zone or an early riser.
