Job Description

Media Director leading YouTube and influencer media strategy for Oxford Road, the world’s largest podcast advertising agency. Driving growth, client outcomes, team development, and creator-market thought leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Set strategic direction for the YouTube & Social media buying team
  • Drive business growth and ensure excellence in execution across client accounts
  • Partner with the SVP of Media as the operational right hand
  • Oversee influencer media planning, buying, and execution
  • Maintain expertise in buying tools and platforms and improve processes and workflows
  • Develop buying guides, negotiation frameworks, and standards of practice
  • Retain select buying responsibilities for high-priority clients
  • Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize campaigns
  • Lead new business pitches and build strategic proposals
  • Oversee client budget allocation, testing roadmaps, and media strategy execution
  • Lead onboarding of new clients
  • Evaluate new media opportunities and develop points of view
  • Build relationships with creators, networks, and agencies
  • Lead weekly team meetings and mentor senior buyers and the broader team
  • Hire, train, and develop senior buyers, media buyers, associate buyers, and coordinators
  • Own workflow, account assignments, and capacity planning with the SVP
  • Foster accountability, proactive communication, and continuous improvement
  • Serve as senior point of contact for high-priority clients and vendor partners
  • Lead preparation for vendor meetings and QBRs
  • Act as primary escalation point for client, vendor, and compliance issues
  • Partner with compliance and media operations to enforce agency protocols
  • Leverage data insights for network-partner strategy and portfolio decision-making
  • Monitor platform changes, algorithm shifts, monetization formats, AI platforms, and competitive threats
  • Represent Oxford Road at industry conferences and panels
  • Contribute to Oxford Road’s newsletter, podcast, and summit as a practitioner voice

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in media buying or media planning
  • At least 3 years in a senior leadership role
  • Proven track record of driving business growth, managing large client portfolios, and leading high-performing teams
  • Deep expertise in creator media buying and a strong understanding of the broader media landscape and emerging platforms
  • Experience managing multi-level media teams
  • Negotiation instincts and market relationships to consistently deliver best-in-market rates
  • Proven ability to lead through change in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to make defensible recommendations from performance data
  • Expertise in media buying platforms, analytics tools, and relevant software
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and strategic thinking abilities
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%
  • Must be based in the United States
