Job Description
Music production expert evaluating Thai-language generative music for Mercor, which partners with AI labs to train frontier models. Rating songs, lyrics, vocals, and production quality.
Responsibilities:
- Compare AI-generated songs head-to-head on musicality, creativity, prompt adherence, vocal quality, and production/mix quality
- Label songs by genre, structure, instruments, vocals, and other musical characteristics
- Review AI-generated lyrics and vocals against reference material for quality and accuracy
- Work in Thai and English while evaluating generative music AI models
- Complete application and onboarding steps, including the Bilingual Competency Interview in Thai
- Contribute human music expertise to projects training and enhancing AI systems
Requirements:
- Native or near-native proficiency in Thai
- Ability to follow detailed written instructions in English
- 2+ years of experience as a music producer, audio engineer, or mixing engineer
- Headphones or studio monitors suitable for critical listening
- Formal training in music performance, theory, or composition (nice to have)
- Credited or commercially released production, engineering, or mixing work (nice to have)
- Broad familiarity with contemporary Thai genres, sub-genres, and artists (nice to have)
- Independent contractor engagement
- Candidates must not require H1-B or STEM OPT support
