Job Description
People Analytics Intern analyzing workforce data, dashboards, and trends for Centene’s managed healthcare services. Improving reporting quality and supporting data-driven HR decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Learn various functions within People Analytics and explore career opportunities in data analytics, business intelligence, and human resources
- Build and enhance Power BI, Tableau, Workday, or similar dashboards and create visualizations that support business decision-making
- Audit and validate workforce datasets to identify missing, inaccurate, or inconsistent information and recommend process improvements
- Analyze workforce trends and metrics related to hiring, onboarding, employee mobility, engagement, retention, and other business outcomes
- Create reusable tools and templates, develop reports, KPI scorecards, and data visualizations that communicate findings clearly and effectively
- Document reporting logic, metric definitions, and data validation processes to support ongoing reporting needs
- Attend training and development sessions to enhance technical, analytical, and professional competencies
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited university or college through the internship period, preferably in a field related to the hiring department
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, formulas, and charts
- Experience with Python or R
- Basic SQL knowledge, including querying, filtering, and joins
- Experience with data cleaning, validation, and analysis
- Familiarity with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms
- Understanding of basic statistical concepts, including averages, distributions, and trend analysis
- Experience working with large datasets
- Familiarity with AI tools, including Microsoft Copilot or similar technologies
