Job Description
Principal Product Manager leading Samsara’s Worker Safety initiative. Defining product strategy, roadmap, and market fit for connected operations solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Lead Samsara’s Worker Safety initiative
- Define the long-term market position for an early-access product
- Act as the single-threaded owner for product strategy and market fit
- Conduct intensive onsite customer research
- Determine the go-forward strategy for the product area
- Translate customer feedback into a clear value proposition
- Identify the financial opportunity and ROI associated with worker safety solutions
- Bridge firmware engineering and software execution
- Define and deliver the Version 2 product roadmap
- Evaluate the market landscape and Samsara’s long-term right to win
- Leverage AI tools and creative visualizations to build demos and iterate on product concepts
- Conduct customer discovery and market validation through launch and scale
- Research unmet needs in physical operations and translate them into product opportunities
- Define and communicate product vision and roadmap
- Collaborate with engineering and design to build full-stack solutions
- Partner with sales, customer success, and marketing teams
- Establish success metrics, track performance, and iterate products
- Champion and embed Samsara’s cultural principles
Requirements:
- 8+ years of Product Management experience
- Track record of success in high-growth, scrappy environments
- Proven ability to build products from the ground up where no playbook exists
- Exceptional first-principles thinking
- Ability to quantify market opportunities
- Ability to prioritize engineering directions based on conviction
- Strong ability to pitch a vision to internal stakeholders and external customers
- Comfortable working closely with firmware engineers and technical teams
- Hardware background is not required
- Legal right to work at Samsara and in the specified work location
