Job Description
Regional Sales Director leading Abbott’s medical device heart-failure sales organization across Illinois, Wisconsin, and Michigan. Driving regional revenue, market penetration, talent development, and therapy adoption.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a regional field sales and clinical organization to achieve sales and market penetration goals for Abbott’s MCS Division
- Lead field sales and/or sales support employees
- Develop and implement annual sales plans to meet business revenue goals
- Hire, coach, develop, and retain sales and clinical personnel
- Develop regional strategic plans for revenue, profitability, and market penetration
- Execute critical sales and service strategies and tactics
- Identify strategies to increase appropriate patient referrals and overcome barriers to Acute therapy adoption
- Provide ongoing coaching and feedback through field visits, observation, and results measurement
- Oversee regional training strategies and market development plans
- Lead regional talent acquisition and talent development strategies
- Develop and maintain relationships with customers, KOLs, and industry leaders
- Maintain understanding of heart failure technology and competitive environment
- Manage and own regional P&L with finance alignment
- Build and maintain relationships with Abbott and competitive customers
- Ensure quality policy/system compliance within the department
- Contact, visit, and support clients and prospective clients regarding company products
- Study new and existing products and monitor competitor sales, prices, and products
- Attend trade shows and conferences as needed
- Remain current on developments in areas of expertise
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3 years of successful sales leadership experience, preferably within medical device industry
- Well organized and capable of juggling multiple projects and tight deadlines
- Excellent personal computer skills including MS Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
- Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment
- Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment
- Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects
- Strong verbal and written communication skills across multiple organizational levels
- Experience with direct quota attainment and performance metrics
- Schedule flexibility for case coverage and client meetings after hours and weekends
- Ability to travel a minimum of 50% of the time
- Able to lift up to 25 pounds; clear vision and good depth perception required
- MBA and/or multi-product/therapy sales management experience
- 6 plus years medical device sales experience
- Experience in Heart Failure field therapy areas
- Demonstrated market development skills
- Demonstrated ability to influence and work successfully with cross-functional partners and customers
- Ability to motivate and sustain high performance in a clinical sales, therapy development organization
- Proven exceptional sales results over an extended period of time
- Priority given to candidates who can think strategically and execute tactically
