Job Description
Regional Sales Manager responsible for territory management and account growth at Hach. Fostering customer relationships to ensure sales and customer retention in the water quality sector.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategic territory and account plans to achieve sales growth, revenue targets, and customer retention objectives.
- Manage the full sales cycle by identifying new business opportunities, maintaining an accurate pipeline in Salesforce (SFDC), and delivering reliable sales forecasts.
- Build and strengthen relationships with municipal utilities, engineering firms, consultants, contractors, and other key decision-makers to drive long-term business growth.
- Conduct customer meetings, site visits, product demonstrations, evaluations, technical presentations, and industry events to promote Hach solutions and expand market presence.
- Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs to identify opportunities and develop effective sales strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Inside Sales, Field Service, Technical Support, Applications, and Proposal/Bids teams—to deliver customer-focused solutions and ensure a seamless sales process.
- Serve as a trusted advisor and mentor by sharing best practices, supporting less experienced sales professionals, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives such as market research, Kaizen events, and product evaluations.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Engineering, Business, or a related technical discipline preferred.
- 5+ years of successful B2B outside sales experience selling technical or industrial products, capital equipment, or solution-based solutions, preferably within the water, environmental, industrial, or municipal markets.
- Proven track record of managing a sales territory, developing strategic customer relationships, and consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets using a consultative/value-based selling approach.
- Proficiency with Salesforce (or another CRM) for opportunity management, pipeline development, forecasting, and account planning, with strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Self-motivated and highly organized, with the ability to work independently, collaborate across cross-functional teams, and travel up to 50% within the assigned territory (valid driver's license required).
