Job Description
Sales executive growing customer relationships and revenue for The Institutes, a nonprofit risk-management and insurance education organization. Developing strategic account plans and virtual selling opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain relationships and sales revenues with assigned customers by understanding their needs and developing customer-focused solutions
- Focus on organizations and customers where The Institutes can have the most significant impact and garner significant revenue opportunities
- Develop virtual selling capabilities relevant to assigned accounts
- Use market intelligence, social media, and networking opportunities to develop relationships with prospects, stakeholders, and influencers
- Work with local industry association groups to access association membership and corporate customers
- Work closely with the President – Agent & Broker Group to achieve overall revenue targets
- Record sales activities in CRM in a timely manner and meet or exceed sales activity metrics
- Perform other responsibilities and projects as assigned
Requirements:
- College degree required
- Minimum 5–7 years of successful sales or client management experience
- Experience in the risk management and insurance industry strongly preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including public speaking
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams)
- Willingness to travel required
- Ability to develop and maintain strong industry relationships
- Ability to retain business, close sales, proactively seek new business, and identify cross-sell opportunities
- Strategic thinking, problem-solving, creativity, and innovation
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills
- Ability to communicate effectively throughout all organizational levels, internally and externally
- Ability to identify, observe, and analyze problems and data
- Ability to formulate business questions and pursue insights
- Ability to evaluate alternatives, risks, and rewards when making decisions
- Ability to work collaboratively across organizational boundaries
- Ability to maintain continuous communication from a remote/home office
- Willingness to do moderate travel throughout the year; weekend travel may be required for conferences and meetings
