Job Description

Sales Account Manager growing Novanta’s robotic EOAT and automation sales. Building industrial customer relationships and expanding project-based revenue across assigned U.S. territories.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive project-based sales growth within the General Industry group
  • Sell technical End-Of-Arm-Tooling (EOAT), including tool changers, force torque sensors, material removal tools, and collision sensors
  • Act as an independent individual contributor facilitating discovery, diagnosis, design, and delivery of high-value customer products and services
  • Serve as point of contact and relationship manager for new and assigned accounts
  • Develop, maintain, and strengthen customer relationships and identify new sales opportunities
  • Build trusted-advisor relationships with key customer stakeholders and executive sponsors
  • Communicate customer needs and expectations internally across marketing, product management, operations, and executive management
  • Communicate engagement and program progress to internal and external stakeholders
  • Forecast sales for existing and new accounts and track key account metrics
  • Identify and grow opportunities within the sales territory and collaborate with sales teams to attain growth
  • Manage account communications and interactions in the internal CRM database and verify quotation and sales order accuracy using Salesforce.com funnel management
  • Assist with high-severity requests or issue escalations as needed
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of the robotics industry, preferably with technical competency around EOAT
  • Ability to effectively communicate and influence at all levels of ATI and customers’ organizations
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects with high attention to detail
  • Effective negotiation, presentation, and meeting facilitation skills
  • High “say/do” ratio and commitment to disciplined customer follow-up
  • Effective prospecting skills from cold calling to lead management follow-up
  • Experience uncovering, diagnosing, and designing technical solutions consistent with customer needs
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience selling technical products within industrial automation and manufacturing markets
  • BA/BS degree preferred (engineering) or relevant experience in technical sales
  • Ability to spend 40%-60% of time in-field on customer visits
