Job Description

Field-based J&J MedTech Surgery sales specialist advancing wound-closure adoption across Northern Ireland hospitals. Building accounts, training clinicians and growing surgical portfolio performance.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent and sell the J&J MedTech Wound Closure portfolio within hospitals across the assigned Northern Ireland territory
  • Drive access, adoption and preference for the J&J MedTech Surgery Portfolio across hospital accounts
  • Establish the Surgery Portfolio as a preferred choice by articulating surgical outcomes, product quality, clinical value and procedural relevance
  • Develop and maintain account plans and weekly/monthly sales action plans
  • Analyse sales reports and account performance to identify opportunities and recommend solutions
  • Negotiate and close routine sales opportunities
  • Own account management and maintain visibility of account sales and opportunities
  • Collaborate with specialist sales resources, account managers and commercial colleagues
  • Lead and support customer training, Centres of Excellence, preceptorships, in-services and other education initiatives
  • Develop and maintain KOL relationships with Professional Education Managers
  • Provide product feedback, market insight and product management support to Marketing
  • Collaborate with Business Managers, Commercial teams, Marketing and internal stakeholders
  • Identify and communicate market intelligence on accounts, competitors, customer needs and emerging trends
  • Monitor healthcare dynamics and national surgical market trends and provide feedback to Marketing and Management

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of high achievement in medical sales, healthcare, commercial roles or another demanding performance-led environment
  • Medical sales experience is advantageous but not essential
  • Interpersonal, communication and influencing skills to operate in a competitive operating theatre environment
  • Strong customer focus and ability to build strategic partnerships across hospital accounts
  • Understanding of the hospital environment, including NHS, HSE and private sector dynamics, or ability to quickly develop this understanding
  • Commercial drive, sound judgement, ability to identify opportunities, prioritise activity and execute with discipline
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to present complex information clearly and compellingly
  • Collaborative mindset across sales, marketing, professional education and commercial teams
  • Entrepreneurial behaviour, resilience and adaptability
  • Degree-level education is desirable, not essential; Business or Science degree advantageous but not essential
