Job Description
Account Manager developing public sector vertical for cybersecurity company, driving new business and building relationships with government organizations.
Responsibilities:
- Focus on hunting and developing Public Sector Accounts (Central / Federal Government / Local / Ministries etc)
- Convert prospects into sales by differentiating from the competition.
- Work collaboratively with System Engineers to prepare account strategies and plans and to organise and deliver compelling and flawless product demonstrations.
- Partner with the channel to gain access into new accounts.
- Deliver strong operational excellence, to include forecast accuracy, SFDC pipeline development, etc.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Proofpoint’s competitive positioning in the marketplace.
Requirements:
- Proven and demonstrable track record of exceeding revenue targets.
- Experience with public tenders, procurement processes, and government frameworks is essential.
- Strong understanding of the public sector ecosystem and relationships with relevant partners.
- Ideally, experience selling Enterprise Security or IT solutions; however, strong public sector expertise is the priority.
- Strong business acumen, to understand the security threat landscape, and become the trusted advisor of the CISO.
- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to clearly and effectively articulate Proofpoint’s value proposition.
- Must be organised, detail and process orientated.
- Must be a self-starter with the ability to work independently yet also thrive within a collaborative team environment.
- Ability to use SFDC, pricing and other online tools effectively.
- Existing relationships within similar markets is preferred.
- Fluent German and English required.
