Job Description

Pricing actuary analyzing property and casualty insurance programs for Ryan Specialty. Improving pricing models, rating tools, portfolio performance, and carrier communication.

Responsibilities:

  • Support growth and profitability targets of various MGUs
  • Perform analysis across property and casualty insurance programs
  • Assist in portfolio remediation and development of new programs
  • Improve existing pricing models and develop new models as required
  • Work with underwriting teams to ensure understanding and buy-in
  • Communicate results and strategy to carrier partners
  • Compile portfolio-level statistics
  • Develop and maintain dashboards as opportunities arise
  • Assist in evolving rating tools
  • Perform vendor evaluations
  • Identify ways to improve efficiency, profitability, and growth

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, or another major with quantitative coursework
  • 5+ years of actuarial experience, or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience
  • P&C industry experience
  • Commercial Lines pricing experience preferred
  • ACAS or FCAS designation strongly preferred; non-credentialed candidates may apply
  • Fluency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI
  • Solid understanding of pricing principles
  • Familiarity with SQL/DataBricks
  • Familiarity with R/Python
  • Familiarity with multivariate analysis and GLM development/maintenance
