Job Description

Senior Director leading Ameresco’s energy-efficiency and renewable-energy sales teams. Driving Eastern U.S. growth, major project proposals, customer acquisition, and regional delivery objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage an existing seasoned sales team of Sales Managers and Account Executives
  • Strategically drive sales of energy efficiency, renewable energy, and advanced technology solutions across multiple market sectors
  • Lead, drive, and manage the business development team to generate business and project opportunities, increase sales, ensure on-time and cost-effective service delivery, and attain regional goals
  • Achieve annual sales goals for bookings, awards, and proposals
  • Develop and implement marketing and sales strategies to identify, target, qualify, and secure customers for Ameresco solutions
  • Formulate business development forecasts, plans, and activities to increase company presence and customer base
  • Manage Sales Managers and Account Executives in the assigned geography
  • Develop, manage, and execute individual and regional sales pipelines
  • Participate as an executive in key client engagements
  • Oversee the development, strategic positioning, preparation, and issuance of winning proposals and presentations
  • Review project submittals for quality assurance, technical accuracy, competitiveness, and customer-oriented solutions
  • Work with engineering, project management, and operations teams to achieve regional business objectives and customer satisfaction
  • Lead planning and management of procurement, contract administration, construction, and commissioning resources
  • Plan, budget, track, and manage organizational and team resources
  • Formulate strategies to increase project development and construction activities
  • Ensure compliance with company, industry, and regulatory safety standards and protocols
  • Cultivate positive and effective business relationships
  • Perform other duties as required

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in sustainability, engineering, economics, finance, or business
  • Advanced education such as an MS or MBA preferred
  • Minimum 12 years of proven regional sales and business development leadership experience
  • Experience cultivating, securing, and implementing multi-million-dollar energy efficiency and renewable technology projects
  • Approximately 50% travel required
  • Superior financial planning, budgeting, and organizational resource management abilities
  • Proven business development experience in the Eastern U.S. region
  • Demonstrated sales track record with executive business decision-maker contacts, C-level sales, advanced negotiation, deal structuring, and sales contract experience
  • Ability to analyze and pre-qualify customer value
  • Excellent verbal, written, technical, computer communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and business relationships
  • Advanced MS Office proficiency
  • Salesforce/CRM experience required
  • Knowledge of energy analysis software desirable
  • Valid driver's license in good standing issued by the state of residence
