Job Description
Senior Oncology Account Specialist promoting Pfizer’s cancer therapies to healthcare providers across Raleigh-Durham. Managing strategic accounts, educating clinicians, and cultivating oncology Key Opinion Leader relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Promote Pfizer’s product portfolio to health care providers and specialists
- Educate members of the healthcare community regarding the appropriate use of Pfizer products
- Call on accounts and organized customers to improve patients’ experience with Pfizer products and the overall quality of patient care
- Increase Pfizer’s brand with high-value target customers
- Assess account and/or business landscapes and connect insights with knowledge of Pfizer’s products and resources
- Promote a broad portfolio of products
- Apply knowledge of disease states, therapeutic areas, products, customers and markets
- Generate demand for Pfizer products in assigned accounts
- Develop comprehensive territory, account and customer plans to achieve objectives
- Maintain relationships throughout institutions
- Overcome obstacles to gain access to difficult-to-see healthcare providers and customers
- Cultivate relationships with oncology Key Opinion Leaders and build lasting relationships with priority customers
- Assess target physician and account needs and address them with responsive approaches, targeted skills and appropriate resources
- Engage, influence and support customers throughout the selling process
- Work in a matrix environment and leverage multiple resources to meet customer needs and deliver results
Requirements:
- BA/BS Degree from an accredited institution OR an associate’s degree with 8+ years of experience; OR a high school diploma (or equivalent) with 10+ years of relevant experience
- Ability to travel domestically and stay overnight as necessary
- Valid US driver’s license and driving record in compliance with company standards
- Any DUI/DWI or other impaired driving citation within the past 7 years will disqualify you from being hired
- Minimum of 4 years of previous Pharmaceutical Sales experience or minimum of 4 years of previous Oncology Healthcare Professional (HCP) experience working with key Oncology thought leaders or high influence customers in hospitals, large group practices or managed care organizations
- Oncology Sales experience required
- Demonstrated track record of success and accomplishment with previous Pharmaceutical Sales experience or Healthcare Professional (HCP) experience
- Exceptional aptitude for learning and ability to communicate technical and scientific product and disease management information to a wide range of customers
- Demonstrated high degree of business acumen
- Proficiency using complex digital applications and ability to adapt to Pfizer’s long-range technology model
- 3-5 years of Oncology sales experience strongly preferred
- Experience in Genitourinary Therapeutic Area
- Strong relationships with Key Oncology leaders at Duke and UNC Medical Centers
- Master’s Degree preferred
- Advanced Healthcare Professional (HCP) Degree preferred
- Experience calling on institutions, NCI centers and Key Opinion Leaders
- Permanent work authorization in the United States
- U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future
