Job Description

Senior Product Manager responsible for product strategy and lifecycle management at EMIL Group. Leading agile teams and aligning stakeholders in the European insurance technology sector.

Responsibilities:

  • You develop a clear vision, translate company objectives into tangible product goals, and maintain a prioritized roadmap
  • You write clear user stories, keep the backlog well-organized, and ensure alignment with sprint and quarterly objectives
  • You conduct structured discovery, validate ideas and solutions, and derive decisions from the findings
  • You work closely with Engineering and QA to ensure features are delivered on time and with high quality — including test cases and release notes
  • You define success criteria, track usage and performance, and optimize based on measurable results
  • You communicate priorities, trade-offs, and progress clearly and transparently to Business, Operations, and Leadership
  • You incorporate the voice of the user into all decisions
  • You ensure tight collaboration between Developers, QA, Design, and Business stakeholders so everyone understands the focus and who is responsible for what
  • You shape our platform and process topics — from custom workflows and task management to notifications and permissions — ensuring these are tailored to the needs of insurers and MGAs

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years of professional experience in product management
  • Ideally experience in insurance, finance, or workflow platforms (e.g., Camunda, Celonis, n8n, etc.)
  • Proven experience managing the product lifecycle from discovery to launch and continuous improvement using data-driven methods
  • Strong knowledge of agile frameworks (Scrum/Kanban), backlog management, and requirements engineering
  • Ability to translate complex business and technical problems into clear, actionable requirements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German (C1)
  • Hands-on experience with common PM tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Figma, analytics tools, API documentation platforms)
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate closely with Engineering, QA, Design, and Operations teams to deliver incremental, iterative value

Benefits:

  • An attractive compensation package aligned with your experience, qualifications, and responsibilities
  • A remote-friendly working model with occasional travel to our Berlin office
  • 30 days of paid vacation, plus a half day off on December 24 and December 31
  • A personal training and development budget of at least €500 (potentially more) that we invest in together for your growth
  • Exciting internal development opportunities through a formal role development model, regular feedback cycles, and performance reviews
  • A company contribution toward Urban Sports Club membership to support your work-life balance
  • A heavily subsidized company pension plan to help secure your financial future
  • A VSOP program that allows employees to benefit from the company’s success
  • Modern hardware of your choice (Windows or macOS)
  • Weekly company lunches and a well-stocked snack bar for those in-between cravings
  • As part of a dynamic and motivated team of specialists, you benefit directly from colleagues’ expertise — team spirit and mutual support are core to our culture
