Job Description

Senior Programme Solution Architect handling AWS migration at Cloud Bridge. Responsible for technical design, delivery guidance, and acting as a senior technical escalation point.

Responsibilities:

  • End-to-end ownership of the technical design and architectural direction for a major AWS migration programme.
  • Responsible for producing the core designs, shaping the migration approach, guiding delivery, and acting as the senior technical escalation point.
  • Design real solutions that get delivered, not to operate as an oversight or assurance function.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience designing and delivering large-scale AWS migration programmes, not just reviewing them.
  • Strong VMware to AWS native (EC2) migration experience, including: Discovery and dependency mapping
  • Authoring HLDs and LLDs
  • Migration wave design and production cutovers
  • Deep networking capability is critical to this role - The successful candidate must be comfortable shaping and challenging designs covering Direct Connect, Transit Gateway, VPN, routing, segmentation, DNS, firewall/security policy alignment, and migration cutover connectivity for large-scale VMware-to-AWS programmes.
  • Consultancy / professional services background is essential, with experience:
  • Designing solutions directly for customers
  • Working within Statements of Work and commercial constraints
  • Leading through influence rather than hierarchy.
  • Hands-on experience with vSphere, VMC, and hybrid estates.
  • AWS Well-Architected Framework accreditation and practical experience running Well-Architected reviews and design workshops in customer environments.
  • Strong experience designing and integrating Disaster Recovery architectures on AWS (for example AWS DRS, multi-AZ and multi-region patterns), aligned to migration and production cutover strategies.
  • Practical experience designing secure AWS Landing Zones, including IAM, networking, logging, monitoring, and guardrails, rather than consuming pre-built templates only.
  • Solid understanding of AWS security and operating models, including identity, access, audit, resilience, and service transition into BAU.
  • Experience supporting or working within AWS migration funding or incentive programmes, where architecture and delivery decisions impact eligibility or reporting.
